Job summary

AM Global, a world-class photonics and infrared optics business serving aerospace, defence and industrial markets in the United Kingdom, seeks a Value Stream Manager to lead a critical manufacturing value stream. You will drive performance, quality and cost control while developing teams and partnerships with engineering and operations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading teams in manufacturing.
• Strong Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience.
• Track record in driving operational performance and process improvements.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, engineering drawings and quality systems.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day performance of the value stream, meeting safety, quality and delivery objectives.
• Own value stream P&L performance and drive productivity and profitability improvements.
• Lead multi-disciplinary teams including production personnel, engineers and coordinators.
• Monitor KPIs and actions to improve OTD, lead times, yields and quality.
• Apply Lean, VSM, 80/20 and Kaizen to remove waste and accelerate cycle times.
• Establish future-state flows and sustain 5S in manufacturing and cleanroom areas.
• Support NPI and efficient production layouts with Engineering teams.
• Maximise equipment utilisation and capacity while reducing bottlenecks.
• Maintain equipment calibration and operation to high standards.
• Drive a culture of quality with AS9100/ISO compliance and root-cause investigations.
• Coach and develop team members, promoting accountability and continuous learning.
