Job summary

Hart Door Systems Ltd in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee the day-to-day performance of our manufacturing operation. This hands-on role requires organising people and machinery to ensure on-time delivery and high standards.

You will drive daily/weekly plans, allocate labour, monitor KPIs, and push Lean improvements while maintaining safety and housekeeping. A strong track record in manufacturing is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven manufacturing/production management experience.
• Experience managing a team.
• Strong planning and organisational ability.
• Excellent understanding of production flow.
• Ability to prioritise under pressure.
• A practical, hands-on management style.
• Good communication and people-management skills.
• A track record of improving productivity, delivery or quality.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain daily and weekly production plans.
• Allocate labour and machine capacity effectively.
• Ensure production targets and delivery dates are achieved.
• Monitor productivity, quality, waste and downtime.
• Identify and remove production bottlenecks.
• Manage and develop the production team.
• Work closely with purchasing, sales and management.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, quality and health & safety.
• Introduce practical Lean/continuous-improvement initiatives.
• Produce clear production reports and KPIs.
• Take ownership when production falls behind plan and put it back on track.
