Job summary

Hargreaves Industrial Services seeks a Barlow Leading Hand for Drax Power Station. The role involves leading the shift, liaising with supervisors, and ensuring safety compliance within HIS and site rules.

You will oversee plant operations and assist on-site processes, with a focus on safe, efficient material handling and equipment use. Based at Drax, the position requires hands-on leadership, adherence to safety standards, and proactive hazard reporting to maintain uninterrupted operations.

Qualifications

• IOSH managing safety or equivalent.
• Materials handling/mobile plant experience.
• Competent with HIS and Drax Power Safety & Golden rules.
• Ability to fault find problems and act.
• Environmental care awareness.
• Mobile Plant operator.
• Harness trained and safety conscious.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with Barlow Supervisor & OSS on requirements.
• Lead shift team and supervise in supervisor's absence.
• Ensure HIS compliance with Drax Barlow permits and planning consents.
• Hand over and report operational status to OSS.
• Deploy shift team per operational needs and inform them of duties.
• Deliver safety toolbox talks and site safety information.
