Job summary

Youth Focus North East in Middlesbrough is seeking a full-time Lead Youth Worker to support, promote and develop voluntary and community action.

You will work with young people aged 10 to 25, leading planning, delivery and evaluation of open access youth clubs, social action projects and targeted work, with travel to the North East including Gateshead.

Interviews to be held 26 November 2026. The post is based mainly in Middlesbrough with travel expected across the North East.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people aged 10–25.
• Ability to plan, deliver and evaluate youth programmes.
• Budget management and partnership collaboration.
• Promote the values of youth work with young people at the centre.

Responsibilities

• Lead on planning, delivery and evaluation of open access youth clubs.
• Coordinate social action projects and targeted work.
• Set and meet targets, manage budgets and work with partners.
• Ensure young people’s voices inform planning and delivery.
