AECOM is seeking a Lead UAV Pilot to oversee UK UAV survey operations, ensuring safe planning, data capture, and delivery across geospatial and engineering projects. You will lead technical delivery, mentor teams, and collaborate with multidisciplinary groups to produce high-quality spatial datasets.

The role emphasizes UAV deployment, survey planning, data quality management, and continuous improvement of practices within a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Experience in UAV operations for surveying, mapping and spatial data capture.
• UK CAA Remote Pilot competency (GVC or equivalent) required.
• Experience planning and delivering drone-based surveys in varied environments.
• Strong understanding of spatial data acquisition principles and survey methodologies.
• Experience producing and interpreting photogrammetry outputs and point clouds.
• Ability to assess project requirements and select appropriate survey methodologies.

Responsabilités

• Lead planning and execution of UAV survey operations across diverse project types and environments.
• Perform pre-deployment planning including site requirements and survey objectives.
• Conduct UAV flights to capture high-resolution spatial data per project specs.
• Maintain high safety and quality standards during field activities.
• Contribute to development of improved UAV practices and data capture techniques.
• Provide technical guidance for UAV surveying and data capture.
