Job summary

Aldwych Consulting Ltd is seeking a Principal Transport Planner in London to lead a portfolio of development planning transportation projects. You will manage projects from inception through delivery, lead technical assessments, and provide strategic transport advice to clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in transport planning, preferably in a consultancy.
• Experience in development planning and transport consultancy.
• Proven experience leading and managing projects independently.
• Strong technical, analytical and report-writing skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience liaising with clients, local authorities and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Understanding of the UK planning process and transport requirements for development schemes.
• Proactive and commercially aware approach to project delivery.
• Degree in Transport Planning or related discipline.
• Chartered status or working towards chartership advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation of Transport Statements, Transport Assessments, Travel Plans and other documents.
• Manage and deliver development planning projects from inception to completion.
• Undertake traffic and transport data analysis to support planning applications.
• Assess transport impacts of developments and provide strategic advice.
• Manage client relationships and attend meetings with clients and authorities.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members.
• Support development of existing client relationships and new business opportunities.
• Take responsibility for project programmes, budgets and deliverables.
