Senior Traffic Signals Design Engineer United Kingdom (Remote) Job Description

We're looking for an experienced engineer to lead the design of complex signalised junctions, pedestrian crossings, and intelligent traffic control systems across a range of high-profile infrastructure projects. This role offers a 50/50 split between home working and onsite presence—ideal for surveys, design validations, and stakeholder engagement.

What you’ll do: Senior Traffic Signals Design Engineer:

• Undertake on-site inspections, surveys, commissioning, and supervision
• Prepare technical designs of complex signalised junctions and pedestrian crossings in line with approved procedures, including technical specifications
• Provide technical oversight on new product or service ideas and design plans
• Prepare complex MOVA Designs and MOVA Datasets
• Maintain good knowledge of standards such as TSRGD, DMRB, and Traffic Signs Manual
• Perform MOVA Validations of complex junctions and roundabouts

Who you are:

The ideal candidate will have experience designing signalised junctions and pedestrian crossings, seeking to advance to a Senior Design Services Engineer role with fresh perspectives on Traffic Signal Design solutions.

Senior Traffic Signals Design Engineer Key Requirements:

• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Keysignals, OSC Mapper, and AutoTURN software
• Microsoft Office skills
• Knowledge of TOPAS 2500A Traffic Signal Controller Specifications
• Experience with MOVA Tools, Datasets, and Linking
• Knowledge of LinSig 3
• Full UK Driving Licence
