Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is seeking a Senior or Principal Town Planner to join a growing Kent planning team. You will lead projects from client engagement through to determination, across residential, commercial, and strategic developments.

The role offers autonomy, client-facing responsibility, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team, with opportunities for progression and exposure to complex schemes.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' planning experience in consultancy or local authority
• MRTPI qualification or actively working toward chartered membership
• Experience with Green Belt and Grey Belt planning projects
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites and meetings across the region

Responsibilities

• Lead planning projects from inception through to determination.
• Manage project programmes, budgets and client relationships.
• Prepare and review planning applications, appeals and supporting documentation.
• Attend and lead client meetings.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with Local Planning Authorities and statutory consultees.
• Provide planning advice across residential, commercial, and strategic development projects.
• Stay up to date with planning legislation and policy changes, especially Green Belt and Grey Belt guidance.
• Mentor junior team members to support their development.
• Contribute specialist planning expertise to medium and large-scale projects.
