Junior Town Planner - Path to Senior in Kent

Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is recruiting a Town Planner for a Kent-based team. The successful candidate will have 1+ years of planning experience, ideally with an RTPI-accredited Master’s degree, and a solid grounding in the UK planning system. The role offers exposure to varied projects and a clear path toward Senior Planner.

You will support from inception to application, collaborate with senior planners, and liaise with authorities while developing planning strategy and client advice.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of planning experience in the UK.
• Understanding of the UK planning system.
• RTPI-accredited Master’s degree preferred.
• Willingness to progress toward Senior Planner level.

Responsibilities

• Support projects from inception through to planning application and decision, with increasing responsibility.
• Work alongside senior planners on medium and large-scale projects.
• Assist with preparation and submission of planning applications, appeals and supporting documents.
• Undertake planning research, policy reviews and site appraisals.
• Liaise with local planning authorities and statutory consultees.
• Attend client meetings, site visits and project meetings with senior colleagues.
• Develop understanding of planning strategy and provide client advice.
• Keep up to date with planning regulations and best practices.
