We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist (OT) or Physiotherapist to advance their career in operational management and leadership. The successful candidate will join our Spinal Injuries Team, which includes occupational therapists, physiotherapists, therapy support workers, and an activities coordinator, based at the Northern General Hospital in the Osborn building.
The Princess Royal Spinal Injuries Centre is a 60-bed, supra-regional centre serving patients with spinal cord injuries from across the east of England, including ventilator-dependent patients. The therapy department features a physiotherapy gym, hydrotherapy pool, sports hall, OT treatment areas, workshops, therapy kitchen, assessment rooms, and flats.
The multidisciplinary team collaborates closely in patient assessment and management. The centre maintains links with other national spinal injury centres to ensure quality service provision.
Key responsibilities include providing operational management and leadership for inpatient and outpatient services, supporting staff health and wellbeing, education, and professional development. The role requires excellent communication, organizational skills, and the ability to foster a positive team culture.
Applicants should have senior-level post-registration experience as a physiotherapist or occupational therapist within an acute hospital setting. The role involves analyzing complex problems, implementing solutions, and working with senior professionals. While primarily a leadership role, there may be opportunities to carry a clinical caseload, with training provided if needed. No weekend or on-call duties are required at this time.
You will collaborate with the Clinical Service Manager, Clinical Specialists, and fellow Lead Therapists to ensure a high-quality, equitable service. This position offers growth in operational management and leadership for both physiotherapists and occupational therapists.
Benefits include opportunities for supervision, mentorship, teaching, quality improvement initiatives, clinical governance participation, and development of management skills, including HR processes.
The organisation values its staff and community, offering excellent benefits, professional development support, and policies to promote work-life balance.
