Job summary

DWP Digital is recruiting a Lead Test Engineer to join the Debt Solutions team. You will lead test strategy across multiple teams and tech stacks, embedding Test Engineering practices in Java with a focus on BDD.

The role covers non-functional testing, CI/CD adoption, and cloud infrastructure, with hybrid working and locations across several hubs. You will work with architects and delivery teams to ensure quality is built into every stage, drive automation, coach engineers, and influence

Qualifications

• Leading and proactively owning test/quality strategies across multiple teams and tech stacks.
• Embedding Test Engineering practices in Java with focus on BDD.
• Leading non-functional testing approaches (accessibility, performance, security, usability).
• Shifting testing left with CI/CD and cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Shape test strategy and drive automation across delivery teams.
• Coach engineers and influence technical decisions to deliver secure, accessible services.
• Provide technical leadership across the full software development lifecycle and manage risks.
