Job summary

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is seeking a Lead Test Engineer to join the Digital Debt Solutions team. You will lead test strategy and ensure quality across microservices, APIs, GUI, and CoTs while collaborating with architects and delivery teams.

Hybrid working across UK hubs, with pay up to £90,267 and a generous pension. You will drive automated pipelines in CI/CD and cloud environments and mentor a growing team of embedded test engineers to deliver secure, accessible services.

Qualifications

• Leads and defines test/quality strategies across multiple teams and tech stacks.
• Defines and embeds Test Engineering practices in Java, with BDD.
• Drives non-functional testing (accessibility, performance, security, usability) and standards.
• Provides technical leadership across SDLC and risk management.

Responsibilities
