Job summary

Ontic's Bishops Cleeve site in Gloucestershire is seeking a hands-on Lead Test Engineer to lead maintenance and repair of environmental test equipment and chambers, including ESS/HASS and altitude chambers. You will own planned maintenance, diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, and coordinate contractors while collaborating with engineering and production teams.

The role offers technical leadership, independence, and opportunities to develop expertise across a range of aerospace test

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance experience in manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Experience with environmental test chambers (ESS/HASS) or similar equipment is advantageous.
• Strong ownership and leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Own planned and preventive maintenance for specialist test equipment.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical and cooling system faults and implement practical solutions.
• Coordinate contractors and service engineers for installation, commissioning and improvements.
• Collaborate with engineering, production and other teams to minimise disruption.
