Job summary

Coffey is seeking an experienced Estimator to lead tender estimates for civil and M&E projects in the UK. You will manage end-to-end tender activity, coordinate with designers, planners and delivery teams, and drive accurate cost estimates.

The role requires a degree in a construction discipline, at least 5 years in the industry, strong commercial awareness, and membership of RICS or CIOB preferred. Candy software experience is an asset.

Qualifications

• A degree in a relevant construction discipline or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the Construction Industry (Civils and/or M&E).
• Strong commercial awareness and knowledge of construction contracts.
• Membership or pursuit of membership with RICS, CIOB, or equivalent.
• Experience with industry standard software (Candy preferable).

Responsibilities

• Preparation and submission of tender estimates for engineering projects.
• Manage all aspects of allocated tenders from enquiry to submission, including design coordination.
• Obtain and evaluate material and subcontractor quotations and prepare cost estimates.
• Review tender programmes with planners and delivery managers.
• Identify and assess commercial risks and opportunities within tender submissions.
• Ensure tenders comply with company procedures and quality standards.
• Support tender handovers to delivery teams.
• Mentor, develop and manage Estimators, promoting collaboration.
• Maintain knowledge of legislation, Form of Contract, and HSQE Management Systems.
