Capital City College in London is seeking a Lead Technician - Creative Media to support and drive key operational functions, helping shape the future of education in the heart of London.

This full-time, fixed-term role runs 35 hours per week and ends 30 August 2027. You will lead the planning, implementation and ongoing development of the Creative Media department's technical infrastructure to support outstanding teaching, learning and industry practice.

Qualifications

Are you ready to make an impact at one of London's leading Further Education providers? Capital City College is looking for a skilled Lead Technician - Creative Media to support and drive key operational functions, helping shape the future of education in the heart of London.

About the Role

This role is offered as on a full-time, fixed term basis, the contract will end on 30 th of August 2027. This role is full-time, working 35 hours per week.

To lead the planning, implementation, maintenance and ongoing development of the Creative Media department's technical infrastructure, ensuring that all IT, networking, digital media and audiovisual systems support outstanding teaching, learning and industry practice.

The postholder will provide technical leadership across Creative Media facilities, ensuring reliable, secure and future-focused technology provision while line managing a team of technicians and apprentices. They will work closely with curriculum, operations and support departments to develop technical solutions that meet educational and commercial requirements.

About You

We're looking for a reliable and motivated individual who takes pride in delivering excellent service. You should bring:

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy and efficiency

• To lead the effective operation, maintenance and development of all Creative Media IT, networking and AV systems across the department.
• To act as the departmental technical lead, providing expert advice on infrastructure, hardware, software, networking and audiovisual systems.
• To develop and maintain a strategic roadmap for Creative Media technical facilities, ensuring alignment with industry practice and curriculum requirements.
• To maintain a secure, reliable and resilient technical environment through proactive maintenance, system monitoring, troubleshooting and asset management.
• To ensure all specialist facilities, including studios, edit suites, production spaces and teaching environments, remain operational and fit for purpose.
• To manage supplier relationships and coordinate external contractors where required.
• To maintain positive working relationships with academic teams, IT Services, Estates, commercial partners and other stakeholders.
• To represent the department in technical planning meetings, project groups and external industry engagements as required.
