Job summary

British Airways Maintenance Glasgow is seeking a Lead Technician (Sheet Metal and Structure) to lead a team in scheduled maintenance, inspections and defect rectification. The role involves organising workloads and delivering targets within the Operations team at Glasgow.

The candidate will have strong sheet metal and structural repair skills, the ability to interpret engineering data, and lead a team across production, engineering and quality.

Qualifications

Recognised Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent.
CAA Pt66 A licence, CAA Pt66 B modules 2, 6, 7, 8, 14 or 15.
HNC in Aeronautical Engineering (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

Maintain a safe working environment by role modelling and maintaining quality, health and safety and housekeeping standard.
Manage quality standards by ensuring compliance with regulations and company procedures to ensure continued airworthiness of the aircraft.
Sign off work on completion within full scope of individual approval.
Provide technical supervision of team’s maintenance tasks.
Work to improve schedules and aircraft downtimes.
