Job summary

Longthorpe Primary Academy is seeking a Lead TA (HLTA) to provide effective classroom cover for planned and unplanned teacher absence, helping pupils make strong progress from starting points and contributing to an inclusive learning environment. Fixed term position from September 2026 to 31 August 2027, starting asap.

The role involves delivering learning activities, supporting pupils including those with SEND/EAL, contributing to planning and assessment, and collaborating with staff, parents

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 GCSEs including English and Maths.
• Experience planning and leading teaching and learning activities.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND or EAL is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned learning activities and provide high-quality class cover.
• Support pupil progress and inclusion for all learners.
• Assist with planning, preparation, and assessment; provide feedback to teachers and parents.
