Job summary

Calthorpe Academy is seeking a dedicated teacher to assist the head teacher in leading teaching and learning. You will ensure students make progress, monitor performance, and implement targeted interventions to raise achievement.

You will plan personalised lessons, uphold the Academy’s values, and work with therapists and external partners to support students. Strong English communication and safeguarding awareness are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be able to assess students according to policy and submit progress records.
• Experience in monitoring progress and taking action to address underachievement.
• Ability to develop personalised curricula to enable progression.
• Strong behaviour management to promote a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist head teacher in leadership and management of teaching and learning.
• Ensure student progress is monitored and actions taken where needed.
• Co-ordinate assessment data and annual reviews for each student.
• Plan personalised lessons to meet individual needs and promote high-quality teaching.
• Work with therapies and external agencies to support students.
• Communicate with parents and carers about progress and concerns.
• Represent the Academy in line with its ethos and policies.
