Job summary

Family Care's Eden School in Macclesfield is seeking a Lead Teacher to deliver across KS2-KS4 in a SEN/therapeutic setting, working with the Headteacher to shape teaching, curriculum development and overall educational quality.

We seek an innovative, experienced teacher with SEN leadership, a commitment to high standards, and a strong therapeutic approach. Permanent, full-time role with 37.5 hours/week, term-time plus inset days. Salary up to £43,536 with induction and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Experienced SEN classroom teacher with ability to lead and mentor others.
• Experience in teaching across KS2-KS4 in mainstream or special settings.
• Experience of curriculum and/or subject leadership.
• Ability to promote high standards of teaching and learning in a therapeutic educational approach.
• Post-qualifying teaching experience in SEN settings.
• Experience teaching children with SEN.

Job description

Family Care is a small family-owned organisation providing specialist SEN education, fostering and residential care across the North West and West Midlands. We are committed to supporting vulnerable children and young people through nurturing, therapeutic services that have a lasting impact on their lives.

Eden School is a specialist independent school in Macclesfield where every child is valued as part of a close and supportive community. We provide individualised SEN education within a therapeutic learning environment for young people aged 6-16 with autism, ADHD, and/or social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. Pupils are taught in small classes of no more than six, each supported by at least one full-time Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to ensure a high level of personalised support.

We are seeking a Lead Teacher with experience teaching across KS2-KS4 in either a mainstream or special school setting, using a primary-style approach tailored to support individual learning and developmental needs. Alongside a full teaching commitment, the Lead Teacher will work closely with the Headteacher, taking a lead role in teaching and learning, curriculum development and the quality of education across the school.
