Job summary

Airbus Defence and Space Limited, based in Portsmouth with occasional UK travel to Stevenage, is seeking a permanent full-time Lead Systems Engineer. The role offers hybrid working, a competitive salary, and a comprehensive benefits package including profit share and pension.

The successful candidate will define system architectures for tender opportunities, work on Military Satellite Communications, capture stakeholder requirements, and lead traceability across sub-systems while coordinating

Qualifications

• Must have or be able to obtain UK Eyes Only SC Security Clearance
• Experience of MBSE and appropriate tools
• Working understanding of portfolios in terms of satellite platforms and payloads, satellite control, mission control, and network control
• Passion for shaping the technology direction and helping colleagues grow their technical knowledge

Responsibilities

• Provide system architecture definition for pending tender opportunities with the UK MOD and other Milsatcom programmes, covering the space, control, and ground segments
• Work on Military Satellite Communications alongside a team of Lead Systems Engineers and Architects
• Capture and define requirements from stakeholder needs through to sub-systems, including ownership of traceability and verification
• Work with Engineering Leads and Partners to define segment and associated sub-system architectures via integrated Working Groups
• Provide systems engineering and project management inputs as required to support planning, schedule, and cost activities
• Inform stakeholders on progress and problem resolution
• Contribute technical proposal inputs
