Job summary

GLL is seeking a Lead Swimming Teacher based at Carterton Leisure Centre. The role involves delivering safe, high-quality lessons and leading a team of teachers to help pupils progress and gain confidence in the water.

You will mentor and coordinate staff, ensure safety and welfare policies are followed, and maintain accurate records of pupil progression and attendance. Excellent communication and safeguarding knowledge are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Qualified at STA Level 2 or Swim England Level 2.
• Experience leading a team of swimming teachers.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding, health and safety regulations.
• Ability to assess pupil progression and adapt teaching.
• Excellent communication and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate a team of teachers to deliver lessons consistently.
• Coordinate attendance, grouping, and pupil ratios during shifts.
• Maintain pupil progression records and update awards.
• Support new enrolments and re-enrolments.
• Provide feedback and training in teacher meetings.
• Uphold safeguarding policy and centre safety standards.
