Job summary

GLL is seeking an experienced Lead Swimming Teacher in the Croydon area to lead and inspire a team of teachers, delivering safe, effective swimming lessons and guiding pupil progression. You will coordinate teaching on shift, monitor progress, and support enrolments under the General Manager’s guidance.

The role requires STA Level 2 or Swim England Level 2, plus safeguarding and child protection awareness. Previous leadership experience and a passion for community swimming are essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold STA Certificate level or Swim England Level 2.
• Knowledge of safeguarding policy and procedure.
• Mentor, develop and guide teaching teams with constructive feedback.
• Attend teacher meetings and training sessions as required.
• Assist with new enrolments and re-enrolments as directed by management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate a team of teachers to deliver lessons consistently.
• Coordinate registers, group swimmers and manage ratios on shift.
• Monitor pupil progression and update progress for awards.
• Provide development feedback to newly qualified teachers.
• Deliver safe, high-quality swimming lessons and maintain a professional poolside presence.
