Job summary

Mercedes‑AMG PETRONAS F1 Team is seeking a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer – Non F1 to own end-to-end suspension design, from concept through R&D testing to implementation. You will mentor a small team of designers and work closely with aerodynamics, vehicle dynamics, testing, reliability, manufacturing and suppliers to deliver optimized, safety-critical suspension systems.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical, automotive or aeronautical engineering or similar.
• Experience delivering complex engineering projects in motorsport or high-performance automotive.
• Experience in suspension architecture, kinematic & compliance design and system integration.

Responsibilities

• Deliver end-to-end suspension design from concept through testing to implementation.
• Mentor a small team of designers and lead design reviews.
• Collaborate with aerodynamics, vehicle dynamics, manufacturing and suppliers.
• Produce 3D assemblies and 2D drawings with GD&T and PLM change control.
• Lead CAE stress analysis and hand calculations to optimise designs.
