Job summary

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Surgical Care Practitioner in Cardiothoracic Surgery to join our specialist team. The post-holder will support complex procedures and manage the entire surgical pathway from pre-operative assessment to post-operative care.

The role requires proven EVH/ERAH harvesting experience, leadership in training SCPs, and advanced clinical judgement.

Qualifications

• Qualified Surgical Care Practitioner with cardiothoracic experience.
• EVH/ERAH competence or working toward.
• Masters level education or working toward it; registered Independent & Supplementary non-medical prescriber or pursuing.

Responsibilities

• Act as first or second assistant in cardiothoracic procedures.
• Harvest conduit veins/radial/mammary using EVH/ERAH.
• Train and supervise SCPs and trainees.
• Maintain skill and technique with surgical instruments.
• Assist in patient positioning, draping and catheterisation.
