Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly accomplished Lead Subsurface Geoscientist for a fully remote position. You will lead multidisciplinary teams to interpret seismic, well log, and core data, developing advanced subsurface models to de-risk prospects and evaluate economics.

Requires 10–12 years in subsurface geoscience, strong expertise in seismic interpretation, petrophysics, and geological modeling, plus a proven record of mentoring teams.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Geophysics, Geology, or related Earth Science.
• 10–12 years of progressive subsurface geoscience experience, with exploration and field development emphasis.
• Proven seismic interpretation (2D/3D), petrophysics, and geological modeling expertise.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams.
• Strong understanding of petroleum systems, basin analysis, and structural geology.
• Proficient with Petrel, Kingdom Suite and Hampson-Russell.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Remote leadership and stakeholder management abilities.
• Must be legally authorized to work remotely for a South African-based company.

Responsibilities

• Lead interpretation and integration of seismic, well log, core and subsurface data.
