Job summary

Blackwell Earthmoving Limited, part of Hargreaves Services Plc, delivers large-scale bulk earthworks and land restoration with precision. As Sub-Agent, you will lead a major section of the HS2 programme, directing a high-performing engineering team to ensure safety, quality and efficient delivery of earthworks on complex infrastructure schemes.

You will develop mass-haul and seasonal work plans, oversee constructability reviews, align with Commercial and Planning teams, and mentor junior

Qualifications

Experience leading engineering teams on large-scale infrastructure projects.
Strong understanding of health, safety and quality standards.
Civil engineering degree and progression toward ICE accreditation.
Excellent organisation and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor the engineering team, providing clear direction, technical guidance, and support to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery across all activities.
Develop and manage detailed mass-haul and seasonal work plans, ensuring accurate forecasting, resource allocation, and alignment with programme milestones.
Oversee constructability reviews, sequencing strategies, and temporary works planning, identifying risks and implementing effective mitigation measures to maintain progress and safety.
Collaborate closely with Commercial and Planning teams, monitoring costs, schedules, and productivity to ensure financial and programme targets are achieved.
Provide technical expertise and professional development opportunities to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
