Job summary

Newcastle United Women Academy is seeking an Academy Physical Performance Lead to design and deliver age-appropriate, evidence-informed athletic development programmes for youth players. You will monitor progress, support rehab, and work with a multidisciplinary team to reduce injury risk.

You'll lead education on nutrition, recovery and healthy habits while maintaining performance monitoring systems and equipment. A commitment to development and collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering physical development programmes in women's and girls' sport.
• Strong collaboration with coaches and practitioners in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment.
• Commitment to continuous professional development.

Responsibilities

• Design, deliver and review strength and conditioning programmes aligned to the NUW Performance Plan.
• Conduct physical testing and monitor player progression to inform development plans.
• Support rehabilitation, return-to-play and injury prevention with the multidisciplinary team.
• Provide physical performance support during training and matchdays.
• Maintain accurate player records and physical performance databases.
• Educate and support coaches to integrate physical development into technical programmes.
• Deliver education on nutrition, recovery and healthy lifestyle habits.
• Maintain and develop the Academy's physical performance monitoring systems.
• Support management and development of S&C equipment and facilities.
• Contribute to departmental projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
