Job summary

Newcastle United Women’s Academy is seeking an Academy Physical Performance Lead to design and deliver age-appropriate, evidence-informed physical development programmes. You will work closely with coaches, medical staff, and the multidisciplinary team to maximise players’ physical potential while reducing injury risk across the academy.

Qualifications

• Excellent knowledge of long‑term athletic development principles.
• Experience delivering physical development programmes within womens and girls sport.
• Experience working effectively within a high-performing multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication, motivation and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, deliver and review evidence-informed strength and conditioning programmes aligned to NUW Performance Plan.
• Conduct physical testing and monitor player progression to inform development plans.
• Support rehabilitation, return-to-play and injury prevention with the multidisciplinary team.
• Provide physical performance support during training and matchdays, home and away.
• Maintain accurate player records and performance databases in line with standards.
• Educate coaches to integrate physical development into technical sessions.
• Deliver player education on nutrition, recovery and healthy lifestyle habits.
• Maintain and develop the Academy's physical performance monitoring systems.
• Support the management and development of S&C equipment and facilities.
• Contribute to departmental projects, meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.
