Job summary

London Borough of Merton is seeking an experienced specialist speech and language therapist to step into a leadership role and contribute to meaningful service development, especially in universal and targeted support in primary schools.

The role includes leading on delivery of expert SLT services, providing peripatetic advisory support to schools, and working within an energetic, inclusive team. The council commits to paying the London Living Wage and offering flexible working arrangements.

Qualifications

• Qualified speech and language therapist with HCPC registration.
• Experience working with a broad range of SLCN in school settings.
• Ability to train and supervise junior staff or students.

Responsibilities

• Assess children and develop or implement specialist SLT treatment in schools.
• Contribute to policy and approach to raising achievement for pupils with SEN.
• Provide peripatetic SLT advisory service to Merton schools and settings.
• Collaborate with SENDIS and SLT teams to build capacity in schools.
