Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is seeking a Specialist Occupational Therapist to provide expert assessment, intervention and rehabilitation across mental health services at Stobhill Mental Health Campus. The post involves leading clinical governance, supervising junior staff and contributing to service development within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy.
• HCPC registration is required.
• Willingness to obtain Practice Education Qualification.
• Up-to-date mandatory and statutory training record (e.g. Fire Safety, Moving and Handling).
• Specialist occupational therapy knowledge within mental health services.
• Strong communication, assessment, observation and risk management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage clinical priorities.
• Evidence of continuous professional development relevant to the role.
• Knowledge of occupational therapy assessments and outcome measures.
• Understanding of health and social care legislation and its application.
• Full driving licence essential.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a complex caseload, providing specialist OT assessment, intervention and evaluation.
• Develop person-centred care plans and contribute to mental health assessments, care management and discharge planning.
• Provide supervision and support to junior staff and students; contribute to staff education.
• Lead and participate in service evaluation, quality improvement initiatives and clinical governance activities.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and statistical information; work with multidisciplinary teams to support recovery.
