Job summary

Socium Recruitment Limited is seeking a Development Team Lead in Manchester to guide a pragmatic group of engineers delivering customer-facing software built on C#, .NET and Azure. The role is roughly 70% leadership and 30% hands-on, with hybrid working in Manchester.

You will coach through reviews, set delivery priorities with Product, and maintain high engineering standards (TDD, SOLID). You’ll stay close to code and contribute to complex changes, while exploring how AI can improve

Qualifications

Experience leading software engineers.
Strong C#/.NET, Azure and API experience.
Background delivering customer-facing software.
Confidence having difficult conversations with engineers or delivery teams.
Enjoys engineering and leading as the main focus of the role.

Responsibilities

Leading the team day to day, making priorities clear and removing blockers to delivery.
Coaching engineers through code reviews, design discussions and feedback.
Collaborating with Product to translate customer needs into technical delivery.
Maintaining high engineering standards: TDD, SOLID, maintainable code and reliable testing.
Staying hands-on with development and solving complex problems.
Exploring how AI can improve development, testing and review with careful judgment.
