Job summary

Socium Recruitment Limited is helping a Manchester FinTech hire a Development Team Lead who will steer engineers, shape delivery priorities and keep customer-facing software moving forward.

You'll spend around 70% of your time leading and mentoring, 30% coding, influencing architecture and technical decisions on a C#, .NET and Azure platform with APIs and distributed services. Hybrid Manchester role.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading software engineers and improving people performance.
• Strong C#/.NET, Azure and API experience.
• Background delivering customer-facing software where usability, performance and reliability matter.
• Confident to have difficult conversations and challenge delivery expectations.
• Enjoy engineering with leadership taking a major part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day, set priorities and remove blockers.
• Coach engineers through code reviews and design discussions.
• Collaborate with Product to translate customer needs into technical delivery.
• Maintain high engineering standards: TDD, SOLID, maintainable code.
• Stay hands-on to tackle complex problems.
• Explore AI to improve development and testing with prudent judgement.
