Formula. in London is hiring a hands-on Lead Software Engineer to own the technical direction of customer identity management as the business scales globally. The role is hybrid, with 2 days in the office each week.

You will lead third‑party delivery partners who perform most of the hands‑on build, while Formula. retains technical ownership of the codebase and architecture. This role requires staying close to the code across stack layers and CI/CD.

Qualifications

• Expect experience across the full SDLC.
• Solid front-end experience with React.
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proven ability to manage or oversee third‑party engineering vendors/partners.

Responsibilities

• Own technical direction and architecture decisions for the customer identity platform.
• Manage and hold accountable third‑party engineering partners delivering the day‑to‑day build.
• Stay hands‑on across the stack and review code across front end, back end, cloud and CI/CD.
• Act as the technical guardian of the codebase, ensuring quality and security standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritise initiatives and align delivery with business goals.
• Report on platform performance, delivery progress, and technical risk.
