Halma plc is seeking a Lead Software Engineer – Hardware Lifecycle in a hybrid role based in Wales. You will guide a small, capable team across three core products, blend hands-on coding with leadership, and shape modernisation of deployment, fleet management and customer fleet administration software.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading a software team through modernization or re-platforming
• Strong product ownership experience and ability to define requirements and priorities
• Excellent communication with stakeholders and team members
• Hands-on with AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering practices

Responsibilities

• Lead the Hardware Lifecycle software team, providing technical guidance, mentorship and coaching
• Own the technical direction and architecture of the team's software and articulate trade-offs
• Act as product owner, shaping backlog with Product Management and customers
• Manage legacy applications through to end of support and limit non-essential changes
• Design, develop and maintain software across C# .NET, React, Xamarin/MAUI, Ruby on Rails, Azure, Git
• Support move from Windows-centric to cross-platform, including Linux
• Identify and mitigate technical risks and address debt
• Provide responsive support for urgent user issues
