Job summary

Anson McCade in London is seeking a hands-on Lead Software Engineer to lead a squad of engineers building products used by professionals and clients. You'll partner with a Product Owner to focus on technical leadership and world-class solutions. The role includes line management of around four developers.

The team builds REST APIs and cloud-native services in C# or Java, with TypeScript/React front-end work, in a lean Agile environment and cloud-first delivery through Azure Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing, specifying and building software end to end.
• Ability to articulate how generative AI solves document management and workflows.
• Track record of leading and mentoring engineers.
• Strong experience in a modern object-oriented language (C# or Java).
• Knowledge of design patterns, clean code and clean architecture.
• Experience building REST APIs and working with messaging systems.
• Data modeling and working with databases.
• Shipping user-facing web applications.
• Collaborative, Agile mindset and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Working in a lean Agile team using a scaled Scrum framework.
• Building back-end services in C#/ASP.NET Core, with front-end work in TypeScript/React.
• Cloud-first applications with unit tests, CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code.
• Containerising and deploying applications via Kubernetes.
• Working with Entity Framework and Azure SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Designing resilient microservices integrated via a cloud message bus.
• Upholding secure coding and infrastructure standards.
• Levelling up your skills and sharing knowledge across the team.
• Building reusable components for other teams.
