Job summary

J.P. Morgan in London seeks a Lead Software Engineer to join the Equities Derivatives Front Office Flow Technology Team. You will drive automation, onboard new products, and extend AI-assisted autopricers while integrating with external vendors to enhance market flow.

You will lead technical delivery across Java services, C#/WPF front-ends, and cloud-based architectures, ensuring secure, scalable solutions for a global client base.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and advanced experience in Java.
• Strong OO design skills with good object modelling and design patterns.
• Experience with development, deployment and maintenance of commercial service-oriented applications.
• Disciplined code management, testing and deployment practices for high quality delivery.
• Understanding of unit testing and its practical application.
• Experience leading use of AI-assisted software development tools with team expectations for validation of AI outputs.
• Knowledge of responsible AI practices, data sensitivity and secure adoption within delivery.
• Strong problem solving skills with mathematical/tech background.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in fast-paced, global teams.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with SMEs to design solutions meeting business requirements.
• Develop Java services for end-to-end processing of derivative products.
• Build front-end desktop apps with C#/WPF and JavaScript to interface with Java services.
• Deliver a stable, scalable cloud-based solution deployed globally.
• Design and implement robust, secure APIs for data persistence and business logic.
• Promote adoption of enterprise AI-assisted engineering practices and ensure code quality and security.
• Utilize SDLC tools and AI-assisted development to improve automation and value.
• Participate in code reviews and share knowledge across the team.
