Job summary

J.P. Morgan is seeking a Lead Software Engineer in London to drive automation, onboard new products, and extend connectivity with external vendors for the Equities Derivatives Front Office Flow Technology Team.

You will contribute as a core technical member, delivering secure, scalable software across Java, C#/WPF, JavaScript, and cloud-based solutions, with emphasis on AI-assisted engineering practices and secure coding standards.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and advanced applied experience in Java.
• Strong OO design skills with good knowledge of object modelling and design patterns.
• Experience with development, deployment and maintenance of commercial service oriented application(s).
• Disciplined approach to code management, testing and deployment practices and high quality delivery.
• Understanding of how to effectively utilize unit testing.
• Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools with ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations.

Responsibilities

• Work with subject matter experts to develop solutions that meet business requirements.
• Develop java services integrated in the end to end processing of the derivative products.
• Build C#/WPF and JavaScript front-end desktop applications to interface with the Java services.
• Build a stable, efficient, scalable cloud based solution which will be deployed globally.
• Design and code a significant amount of a robust, secure and efficient API to persist / retrieve data and implement the business logic.
• Promote adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes.
• Apply knowledge of SDLC tools and AI-assisted development to improve automation value.
• Participate in code reviews and share knowledge with team members.
