Job summary

Capgemini UK is seeking a Java Full Stack Developer with AI to join our Financial Services Business Unit in the Cloud & Custom Applications practice. You will collaborate with stakeholders, product teams and engineering squads to deliver scalable digital solutions in an agile environment.

You will design, build and integrate robust applications using React, Java, Spring Boot and REST APIs, while embracing AI-enabled approaches and a culture of continuous learning.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in full stack software engineering delivering business-focused solutions.
• Strong frontend with React or React Native.
• Strong Java development experience including enterprise delivery.
• Experience with Spring Boot and RESTful APIs.
• Knowledge of microservices and distributed systems.

Must-Have Skills

• Proven experience in full stack software engineering with a track record of delivering business-focused solutions.
• Strong experience in frontend development using React or React Native.
• Strong Java development experience, including enterprise application delivery.
• Expertise in the Spring Boot framework.
• Experience designing, developing, and integrating RESTful APIs.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems principles.
• Experience working with SQL and relational database technologies.
• Practical application of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD).
• Experience implementing unit, integration, and end-to-end testing strategies.
• Knowledge of secure coding principles and application security best practices.
• Strong understanding of DevOps, Continuous Delivery, and modern software engineering practices.
• Experience working in agile environments and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong stakeholder management, consulting, and client-facing communication skills.
• Ability to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Awareness of AI-driven approaches and a commitment to continuously evolving engineering practices.
