Location: London, UK (Hybrid, 3 days a week in person)

Contract: 6 months +

Start: ASAP

Responsibilities:

Develop and enhance trading strategies and engines using core Java within high-performance trading systems.
Collaborate closely with global trading, quantitative, and IT teams to evolve the trading platform and support key business initiatives.
Contribute to a diverse range of projects, including algorithm development, system performance optimization, and trading signal generation and analysis.
Engage in the full software development lifecycle—from gathering and defining requirements to designing, developing, and deploying robust solutions.
Work on high-volume, low-latency, resilient, and scalable systems, leveraging cutting-edge Java technologies and the latest hardware innovations.
Interpret business requirements from Business Analysts (BAs) and stakeholders, translating them into efficient, optimized code with a focus on low latency and high throughput.

Requirements

Proven ability to analyze business and technical requirements and deliver well-architected, maintainable solutions.
Logical problem-solving approach with solid analytical capabilities.
Excellent communication skills and a strong team player in a global, collaborative environment.
Experience with version control systems like Git/Stash and continuous integration tools such as Jenkins.
Familiarity with unit testing frameworks like JUnit.
Eagerness to learn and understand the trading business supported by the applications.
Interest or experience in developing systems for automated market making, Direct Market Access (DMA), or algorithmic trading in liquid markets (equities, FX, rates) using FIX protocol.
Experience with web service development, REST APIs, and TypeScript, preferably with the Angular framework.
