As a Lead Software Engineer, you will be an expert and role model in software craft. You will enable multiple teams, driving standards, quality, and collaboration, resolving technical blockers, and promoting reuse.
You will help define strategy and standards for our engineering community and lead the adoption of best practices to deliver quality software products. You will also represent DWP and engineering in the civil service and wider tech community.
While capable of hands-on work, your primary focus will be leading and setting direction for engineers and teams.
Location: In one of our digital hubs in Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, or Sheffield.
Hybrid Working: Mix of remote and face-to-face collaboration.
Pay: Up to £89,995.
Pension: Civil service pension with 28.97% employer contributions, up to £21,050/year.
Holidays: 25 days starting, rising to 31 days, plus up to 3 extra days/month on flexi-time, and public holidays.
