Job description

We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Technology Engineering team at Greggs as a Lead Software Developer to drive innovative, greenfield products that enhance both digital and in-store experiences.

Working in an agile, cross-functional team, you'll help build a scalable, secure platform supporting key digital solutions like click & collect, retail systems, and digital order fulfilment—ensuring a seamless experience for millions of customers daily.

About the role

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to software developers
  • Collaborate with product and delivery teams to translate requirements into solutions
  • Build resilient, scalable, and secure software
  • Identify and resolve technical and process blockers
  • Conduct code reviews and promote best practices
  • Ensure operational reliability and troubleshoot incidents
  • Lead your team towards high performance and self-organization
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends
About you

You’ll fit if you:

  • Have deep knowledge in areas such as .NET, Flutter, or Vue.js
  • Understand DevOps and CI/CD practices
  • Know infrastructure as code and security best practices
  • Lead by example with clean, maintainable code and testing
  • Possess strong leadership and communication skills
  • Are proficient with Git and version control strategies

Bonus points for experience with Linux, cloud cost management, and monitoring tools.
