Job summary

Anson McCade Pty is seeking an experienced SOC Architect / Security Architect to lead the design and delivery of secure SOC solutions for government and defence clients. You will work with senior stakeholders to translate complex security requirements into scalable architectures, combining hands-on deployment of SIEM, SOAR, EDR, and vulnerability management with strategic risk assessments.

This role requires strong experience in SOC operating models, both on-premise and cloud, and familiarity

Qualifications

• Strong experience architecting Security Operations Centre solutions.
• Hands-on experience deploying at least two of SIEM, SOAR, EDR, Vulnerability Management or Threat Intelligence technologies.
• Experience with on-premise and cloud security architectures.
• Experience with Government, Defence or other highly regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture of SOC solutions for complex customer environments.
• Engage with senior stakeholders to understand security, operational and accreditation requirements.

• Assess existing SOC capabilities and identify opportunities to improve security maturity.

• Support the selection and design of security tooling and technologies.
• Apply security principles including least privilege, encryption and defence-in-depth.
• Conduct risk assessments and support vulnerability management activities.
• Research and evaluate new technologies and solutions where requirements are novel or complex.

A leading organisation operating at the forefront of defence, cyber and national security, delivering complex technology and security solutions across some of the UK’s most demanding environments.

You’ll join a specialist team working closely with government and defence customers, helping to design and deliver secure, resilient and scalable Security Operations Centre (SOC) solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading the architecture of SOC solutions for complex customer environments

What we're looking for:

We’re looking for an experienced SOC Architect / Security Architect with a strong technical background and the ability to operate confidently with both technical teams and senior customers.

• Strong experience architecting Security Operations Centre solutions
• Hands-on experience designing and deploying at least two of SIEM, SOAR, EDR, Vulnerability Management or Threat Intelligence technologies
• Strong understanding of SOC operating models, people, processes and technology
• Experience with both on-premise and cloud security architectures
• A strong understanding of common cyber threats and appropriate mitigation strategies
• Experience with risk assessment and vulnerability management
• Knowledge of enterprise ICT services and secure infrastructure
• Experience working with Government, Defence or other highly regulated environments
• Strong stakeholder management and client-facing experience
• Familiarity with architectural frameworks such as TOGAF or Zachman, alongside architecture modelling
• The ability to translate complex requirements into scalable, resilient and secure architectures
