We are an established and industry leading, specialist MEICA contractor for valves, penstocks, and actuators, operating across the UK.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Geographically Focused Workload: We prioritise projects across the North West. Whilst further travel will be required from time to time, you will spend less time travelling nationwide and more time delivering high-quality service in your region.
  • Work-Life Balance: Occasional overnight stays are part of the role, but your primary base will remain in the North.

About The Role

As a Lead Site Technician, you'll be a hands-on supervisor delivering on-site installation, servicing, and refurbishment of penstocks, valves, and actuators. You'll guide a team, drive quality standards, and liaise closely with customers and project engineers – ensuring safe, efficient project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor, encourage and enforce safe practices within the team and ensure works are delivered safely.
  • Install, service, repair and commission flow control and associated equipment.
  • Fault finding, repairing & installing electric actuators.
  • Helping ensure projects are on schedule through monitoring operations/communicating on progress to Project Engineers and Site Service Managers.
  • Conduct inspections on partially completed and finished works, to ensure quality standards are upheld and visible to the customer.
  • Following engineering drawings.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong mechanical/electrical background – ideally with valve/actuator experience.
  • Preferably SSSTS qualified.
  • A solid technical background, ideally with penstocks, valves, actuators and associated equipment.
  • Ability to understand and work to engineering drawings.
  • Ability to travel throughout North West region on a daily basis. ***But not limited to this area***
  • Willingness to work from our Hyde (Manchester) premises on a regular basis when required to do so.
  • Willingness to occasionally travel across the UK and have overnights stays, in line with the needs of the company, its workload and customers.
  • Experienced in confined space working.
  • Proven experience of dealing with key customers in a professional manner.
  • Excellent communication and solution orientated problem-solving ability.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and observation.
  • Flexibility to adjust workload priorities to take account of new deadlines.
  • IT fluency.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Confident in leading others and upholding high standards.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
  • Based in or near North West England.
