Job summary

Mears Group is seeking a proactive Site Manager to support our retrofit programme in social housing. You will manage planned works across housing properties, ensuring safety, quality and on-time delivery.

The role involves coordinating site operations, supervising subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. A UK driving licence and relevant certifications are required. A company vehicle is provided.

Qualifications

• SSSTS and Asbestos Awareness certifications are required.
• Experience in site management for social housing projects.
• Ability to supervise health, safety and regulatory compliance.
• Knowledge of internal and external refurbishment works.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day delivery of planned works contracts.
• Manage site teams and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery.
• Monitor progress with regular site visits and ensure quality.
• Oversee insulation, windows, doors, heating, and roofing works.
• Check workmanship against regulations and specifications.
• Ensure scaffolding and height activities are safely managed.
• Communicate progress with line manager and stakeholders.
• Record updates and changes in company procedures.
• Ensure subcontractor compliance with H&S, CDM and Mears policies.
• Liaise with residents to minimise disruption and provide service.
• Promote a safe working environment and report hazards.
• Support continuous improvement and team development.
