Job summary

C & C Contractors (London) Ltd is seeking an experienced General Builder / Working Foreman to oversee day-to-day on-site operations on projects in London and surrounding areas. You will coordinate trades, manage resources, and ensure quality, programme and safety standards.

The role combines hands-on construction with client liaison, requires SMSTS/SSSTS, a trade qualification, a full UK driving licence and DBS checks. A company vehicle is provided, hours 8am-5pm, and 20 days holiday.

Qualifications

• Must have a trade qualification or served apprenticeship.
• At least 5 years supervisory experience in construction.
• SMSTS (site managers safety) or SSSTS (site supervisor safety) accreditation required.
• Full UK Driving Licence required.
• DBS check required.
• Good general health and safety knowledge.
• Able to read drawings and set out new work, with broad knowledge of building trades.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day site organisation.
• Liaise with clients to ensure high-quality service.
• Provide construction knowledge and guidance as needed.
• Report daily to contracts managers and surveyors.
• Organise materials and liaise with the office.
• Attend weekly progress and safety meetings.
• Maintain health and safety standards on site; conduct inductions.
• Coordinate subcontractors in liaison with the office.
• Check and record labour outputs against timesheets.
• Ensure subcontractor labour meets required standards.
• Carry out weekly toolbox talks for labour and subcontractors.
• Manage site to ensure adherence to construction plans and safety targets.
