Job summary

Randstad CPE is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to oversee structural civil works on a major link road project in Saxmundham, Suffolk. You will lead setting out, QA processes, and on-site coordination with the design team and groundworks sub-contractors.

This long-term contract offers daily rates of £350-£400 (CIS or LTD). Responsibilities include ensuring accuracy, inspecting materials, and interfacing with Project Management to drive targets while maintaining safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Civil engineering background with experience on heavy civils or highway structures.
• Ability to read structural drawings and coordinate with design teams.
• Experience with setting out, QA/ITPs, and on-site management.

Responsibilities

• Setting Out & Controls: provide precise setting out for RC bridges, abutments, culverts, and highway tie-ins.
• QA: establish and manage ITPs; perform pre-pour inspections and log tests.
• As-Built & Surveying: produce detailed surveys and volume calculations.
• Interface: raise RFIs to resolve design conflicts promptly.
• Site Management: coordinate with Site Agent and sub-contractors to meet targets safely.
