Job summary

Randstad CPE is seeking a skilled Setting Out Site Engineer to join our client’s construction team on a major UK infrastructure project (HS2). You will lead site surveying, monitor progress, and ensure safety and quality standards are met on site.

The role requires a civil engineering degree and proven experience in large-scale projects, with proficiency in Level, EDM, GPS and reading complex drawings. Immediate start is available; standard hours are 7am-5pm, with an umbrella rate of £53 per

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Experience on large-scale civil infrastructure projects, especially structural RC works.
• Skilled in setting out using Level, EDM, and GPS.
• Able to read and interpret complex technical drawings and contract docs.
• Holder of a valid driving license and CSCS card.

Responsibilities

• Lead site engineering control and implementation of structural works.
• Perform precise setting out and surveying.
• Monitor progress, daily records, and subcontractor workflows.
• Ensure quality, ITPs, and safety documentation adherence.
• Collaborate with teams to resolve constraints and maintain timelines.
