Job summary

A Shift Manager is sought for a growing local business at their flagship UK site in Northampton. You will lead the operation, drive improvements and develop teams across multiple shifts.

Responsibilities include overseeing a team of team leaders and staff, ensuring smooth handovers, monitoring KPI performance, and driving lean improvements on the shop floor. Extensive training and development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Proactive person - leading from the shopfloor.
• Must have worked in a busy manufacturing operation previously.
• Managed a similar size team / structure.
• Able to demonstrate solid leadership skills and ownership.
• Target and results driven person.
• Strong decision making skills - able to make things happen strategically when on night shift.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing - 5S, Kaizen, RCA.

Responsibilities

• Working closely with the other Shift Managers, leading a team of X3 team leaders & X40 staff.
• When working on the night shift, be the most senior person on site.
• Carry out shift handovers, floor walks speaking to team members and team leaders.
• Monitor production plans, overlook reports, KPI performance management.
• Training and performance management of team leaders.
• Manage factory workflow, planning, identify areas of improvement, maximise output.
• Work closely with engineering, safety, quality, sales & planning teams.
