Job summary

Portsmouth Football Club is recruiting a First Team Set Piece & Training Analyst to join our Analysis department. You will deliver high-quality video and data analysis to support performance, with emphasis on training and set pieces, working closely with the Head Coach and Set-Piece Coach.

Travel with the squad to all fixtures, provide actionable insights during matches, and create clear, evidence-based set-piece material to inform strategy and development across the first team.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Sports Science or related field.
• MSc in a sports-related discipline (Desirable).
• Experience with performance analysis software and video coding platforms (Hudl).
• Strong communication skills and ability to present to coaches and players.
• Enthusiasm for performance analysis and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Lead analysis provision across training and set-piece workflows.
• Lead on opposition set-piece analysis and devise strategies with coaches.
• Travel to all home and away fixtures, providing insights during matches.
• Create evidence-based set-piece meetings and targeted video reviews.
• Ensure effective video capture and upload to destinations; update databases.
• Maintain knowledge of first team squad and relevant opposition.
