Job summary

Bupa in the UK is hiring a Senior Service Designer to lead end-to-end service design initiatives across digital products and experiences. You’ll mentor others, collaborate with researchers, product designers and engineers in an agile environment, and help shape Bupa’s service design practice with a customer-centred mindset.

The role is hybrid, based in Bolstered by a 37.5‑hour week and a salary range of £53,500–£63,800 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Established ‘design thinker’ with empathy for user needs and a test‑and‑learn approach.
• Confident in engaging stakeholders across multiple business units.
• Experience creating journey maps and service blueprints across complex domains.
• Skilled at facilitating workshops and driving cross‑functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects and establish service design at Bupa.
• Deliver end‑to‑end service design initiatives transforming how customers access products and services.
• Create visual artefacts such as blueprints, process maps and journey maps.
• Build a holistic domain understanding to guide decision making and recommendations.
• Engage stakeholders across multiple business units to determine priorities and alignment.
• Collaborate with researchers to validate hypotheses and ensure human‑centred design.
• Facilitate cross‑functional discussions through workshops and mapping sessions.
• Balance business requirements with customer needs and technical feasibility.
• Mentor and coach other designers to grow the service design capability.
